Sun and Dockton Marina
A sunny day view of Dockton Marina, with the "old" roof on the harbor building. The new rood is an ugly shed roof so I revert to the shape that pleases me better.

Bridge View in Aberdeen
A view from the highway bridge looking towards the railroad bridge in Aberdeen Washington. Motorboats and sailboats are docked in the Wishkah River and late afternoon sunlight turns the bridge trusses yellow and casts complex shadows. 12" x 12" Painted from photos I took on location. Sun and Smoke Ferry Vashon
The Ferry Tillikum leaves the north end Vashon ferry dock. Sunlight streams through smoke as the boat slowly pulls away from the dock. Painted from photos I took from another ferry on the same run. I just put this painting in the Heron's Nest Gallery on Vashon.

Ellisport View - Low Tide
This is a view along Tramp Harbor towards Ellisport on Vashon Island. When the tide is out the flats are covered with soft green seaweed. The piers in the background are a remnant of the Ellisport dock that was used by the mosquito fleet.
This painting will be in the Vashon Island Artist Studio Tour. Stop # 9 on the map at Plum Lodge Painters, 14210 SW Reddings Beach Road. Maps available here.

Ferry at Fauntleroy SOLD
Another ferry painting, this time, the ferry as it is coming in to dock at Fauntleroy. I like the backlit subject. Usually an object that is backlit is seen in silhouette and is dark, but by keeping the values high the entire painting seems infused with light. This one will be at the Vashon Artist Studio Tour, stop #9, at 14210 SW Reddings Beach Road, during the first TWO weekends in December. 6" x 12" oil on panel.

Dockton Net Shed with Poles
A view of a net shed in Dockton - low tide in the late afternoon. I don't know what the poles near the shed are about - maybe remnants of another dock?
I like the light and the contrast of the greenish blue hills and the reddish blue beach. On my Etsy store

Ferry Dock
The Vashon-Fauntleroy-Southworth ferry on a sunny day. Mostly white and green and blue. I like the architecture of the drawbridge and I especially like the brushstrokes in the sky.
