12x12 original oil painting of the Vashon-Southworth-Fauntleroy ferry passing between Vashon Island and Blake Island. Broken clouds and haze keep the sky light and the ferryboat is backlit
by the afternoon sun. I like the mood of the painting: big sky,
tranquil water, distant ferryboat, sun and clouds; life seems to move at
a different pace. On my ETSY store

Grayland Shore View North
On my ETSY store.
At the ocean beach in Grayland Washington--sunny and hazy and windy. This was painted as the tide was still coming in but almost turning. The water almost touched my feet but didn't get that far. Everything was very high key, almost no shadows and pale colors. I enjoyed trying to figure out how to suggest the shallow waves.

Oregon Beach
A view from a trip down highway 101 following the Oregon Coast; high bluffs, sandy beaches, and rocky headlands make for beautiful scenery. This was probably near Ecola State Park just north of Canon Beach.

Madronas and Late Afternoon Sun
Painted in my yard - a view through the madronas across Quartermaster Harbor and the southern end of Vashon Island. I really like the way the bottom of the hill dissolves into the water.
I just posted this one to my Etsy store: Click here to see listing.

Blue Water Smoke and Ferry SOLD
Another painting of the Vashon-Fauntleroy Ferry. When the ferry pulls away from the dock, smoke obscures the trees and steep hills of Vashon. I like the harmonious effect of the blues and greens, analogous colors on the color wheel.
